“Dental Implants - My Experiences”
Background:
At age 69, lost front upper teeth. Broke off.
I had had implants before and were fine with them.
No experience with removable dentures.
Decision was made to make permanent upper denture.
Experience:
Was not informed as to total cost and was very expensive...like cheap new car expensive.
Although functional, not a perfect fit and sore on my tongue from poking upper denture.
Difficult to keep clean.
If you get permanent denture, going to need: "Christmas tree" flossing sticks to clean in between gaps in denture (sold at any pharmacy); a power water floss device to get small particles out in between denture teeth; an electric tooth brush and plenty of mouth wash.
Durability:
Update: Been 15 years now and no break of bridge mounted across all implants. Can tell gums are receding (age) but can't talk about longevity of implants and bridge.
