“She Comes to Me In Dreams”

She comes sometimes in my dreams,

all mixed with prison scenes

and great escape plans.

Obvious to me

it is all drive

from the loins

and little else,

but the final chapter

draws me still.

Locked in my Christian ways,

I blame my religion

when more than not,

it is only fear.

But one doesn't venture far

into one's fears

when sex with a woman

is involved.

Better to put the God

to blame.
