“Daughter ”

 

Laughter comes bubbling out

when I tickle her.

 

She loves my lap

and I love her there.

 

Not shy about hugging and kissing,

I think of her being 10 or 20 or 50 years of age.

 

These years are so precious

and I want to hold tight.

 

Love is hard to show sometimes.

Does it show?

Will it form and shape

their budding lives?

 

Happy singing from down the hall.

Satisfied with a puzzle,

she's all bubble and smiles now.
