Summary: insert soft outside edge of vinyl track into wood frame, align bottom of track with windowsill and then slowly snap inner edge of vinyl track into wood frame.
Reinstalling vinyl track into wood frame:
Move vinyl track to window frame.
Holding vinyl track at an angle to you such that the soft edge of the track is in towards the frame and the hard edge of the track is more out of the wood frame, place track into wood frame at top while inserting soft edge of track into wood frame.
As you insert vinyl track begin to align bottom edge of track with windowsill at bottom.
Once vinyl track back edge is into wood frame and bottom of vinyl aligned and up flush with window frame at bottom, starting at top, use a knife to pry the hard edge of the vinyl track into the wood frame.
As the vinyl edge begins to go in and under the wood frame, push the vinyl track inward.
The vinyl track should easily snap into the wood frame.
As you snap the hard edge of the vinyl track, inspect the other edge that it has not moved out of the wood frame.
Install window bumper guard in vinyl track for inner window.
Note that the bumper has a specific shape such that the curved edge goes into the soft edge of the vinyl track.
Place guard up close to the top of the, insert soft, curved edge and then push with finger the hard edge into it snaps into place.
If you had to replace a sash tube, you will now have to pull the window catch down to approximately the same location as the other side of the window opening.
To do this, you use a flat blade screwdriver inserted into the channel holding the sash tube and placing the flat blade on the blue catch at the bottom of the tube, pull down hard on the catch. It should move although you will certainly experience significant resistance from the sash tube spring.
